4.3 Medical & Psychological Evaluation Before Surrogacy Screening

At GSHC Surrogacy & Egg Donation, we want every surrogate mother to feel fully supported—physically, emotionally, and medically. Before we schedule your in-person medical screening, one important step is having your medical records and psychological evaluation reviewed by the intended parents’ fertility clinic.

This review helps confirm that everything is on track and that you’re ready to move forward.

Why This Step Matters

Fertility clinics need to make sure that each surrogate is truly ready—both physically and emotionally—to carry a pregnancy. This step is important because it:

Confirms your overall health and reproductive history
Reviews any past pregnancies and ensures they were full-term and without major complications
Helps the clinic understand your emotional readiness for the journey
Meets both the clinic’s and the intended parents’ safety standards

What We Submit to the Fertility Clinic

To complete this step, we’ll send the clinic the following:

Your medical records – including OB/GYN notes, delivery records, pap smear results, and any IVF-related documents
Psychological evaluation – If the clinic requires it, we’ll include the results of your mental health assessment
Additional letters – If you’ve received medical or psychological care from a specialist, we may need a note confirming that you’re cleared to proceed

How Long Does It Take?

The review process usually takes 1 to 3 weeks, depending on how quickly we can collect all your documents and how soon the clinic completes their review. If anything else is needed, we’ll let you know right away and help you gather it.

What Happens Next?

Once the clinic gives the green light—meaning your records and psychological evaluation (if required) are approved—we’ll move ahead with scheduling your official medical screening.
