4.2 GSHC Surrogacy Matching Process: Ensuring the Right Fit
At GSHC Surrogacy & Egg Donation, we believe successful surrogacy starts with compatibility. Our matching process ensures surrogate mothers and intended parents feel comfortable, aligned, and supported throughout the journey.
Unlike other agencies, GSHC prioritizes surrogates first, ensuring they match with intended parents they genuinely feel comfortable with.
Step 1: Understanding the Surrogate Mother’s Preferences
We start with a one-on-one conversation where we’ll ask about your preferences for a match. This helps us understand the kind of experience you want, including:
- Whether you prefer a close relationship or something more professional
- How you feel about matching with single parents, couples, or international families
- Your comfort level with topics like embryo reduction and pregnancy termination
- What kind of communication you’d like to have throughout the journey
Step 2: Understanding the Intended Parents’ Preferences
At the same time, we speak with intended parents to learn more about their hopes and expectations. This includes:
- The background and lifestyle they’re looking for in a surrogate
- Their preferred level of communication and involvement
- Their views on pregnancy-related decisions and medical choices
Step 3: Finding the Right Match
Once we understand everyone’s preferences, we begin the matching process. Here’s how it works:
- We identify intended parents whose values and goals align with yours
- Your profile is shared with those families for consideration
- Then, we present up to three intended parent profiles for you to review and choose from
Step 4: Medical Record Review Before Match Confirmation
Before moving forward, we always make sure your medical records are reviewed and approved by the fertility clinic. This step includes:
- Sending your pregnancy history and records to the clinic
- Waiting for a doctor to confirm that you meet medical requirements
- Arranging any additional evaluations if needed
Step 5: Match Meeting – Final Step Before Confirmation
When everything looks good, we schedule a virtual or in-person meeting between you and the intended parents. This is your chance to connect and talk openly about:
- Communication preferences
- Birth plans and expectations
- Any concerns around medical care, finances, or legal steps
Step 6: Match Confirmation & Medical Screening
Once both sides feel good about moving forward:
- The match is officially confirmed
- We submit the match details to the fertility clinic to begin scheduling medical screening
- You’ll be introduced to your personal case manager, who will guide you through the rest of your journey
