Step 1: Initial Research & Application

Most surrogates start by doing their own research—reading stories, comparing agencies, and getting a feel for what the journey might look like. When you’re ready, you can head to our website and click “See if You Qualify” to complete our short pre-screening form.

What you’ll share in the form:

A few basic personal and medical details
Your pregnancy history and lifestyle background
Info to help us check eligibility based on standard guidelines (like ASRM and clinic rules)

Step 2: Video Consultation with an Intake Manager

If the initial application is approved, candidates will have a video consultation with an experienced intake manager. This 40-minute to 1-hour conversation allows us to:

Review your application and personal history in detail.
Discuss your medical history, lifestyle, and motivations for surrogacy.
Understand your surrogacy preferences, including:
The type of intended parents you’d like to match with.
Your views on embryo reduction and pregnancy termination.
Explain the surrogacy process, compensation, and benefits.
Assess your financial stability to ensure surrogacy is a good fit.
Review your medical insurance policy to determine if additional coverage is needed.
Understand your home living environment to confirm a stable and supportive setting.
Answer any questions you may have.

Step 3: Profile Creation & Medical Records Submission

If everything looks good, we’ll invite you to complete your profile in our secure GSHC portal.

You’ll upload a few documents, like:

ID and work permit (if applicable)
A recent pay stub or proof of income
A short personal statement and photos to help families get to know you

You’ll also sign a release form so we can request your past pregnancy records directly from your doctors.

Your profile is how intended parents and fertility clinics will get to know you. A strong, complete profile helps us find the right match faster.

Step 4: Medical Records Request & Review

Once we’ve received your records, our team reviews everything carefully to confirm you meet health qualifications.

Here’s what to expect:

It can take anywhere from 1 to 5 weeks to receive records from your doctors
We’ll keep you updated regularly while we wait
Once everything is reviewed and approved, you’ll move forward
If anything needs further clarification, we’ll talk it through with you directly

Step 5: Background Check

To make sure the journey is safe and responsible for everyone involved, we run a standard background check for both:

You (the surrogate)
Your partner or spouse, if applicable

Step 6: Final Interview & Signing Agreements

Now comes the final step before officially joining the program.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

You’ll sign official agreements that explain rights, expectations, and next steps
We’ll walk you through the overall timeline so you know what to expect
If needed, we’ll schedule a psychological evaluation to help ensure you’re emotionally ready for the journey ahead
